What better way to ask your partner to say ‘yes’ to the adventure of marriage than at sunrise in Mammoth Lakes, CA?
Gabe let me in on his secret after booking this sunrise session with me and as a Mammoth Lakes Photographer I knew just the spot. Minaret Vista is a classic spot for anyone coming to Mammoth Lakes. You get a stunning view of the mountains that frame Mammoth Lakes—there are the Minarets themselves which are framed in the background of most of these images. Gabe loved this location because the two of them lived in Mammoth and wanted this view of their home to be a part of this moment.
The morning started out beautifully. It was every Mammoth Lakes Photographers dream! As the sun began to rise over the White Mountains to the East, light began to fall upon the Sierra Nevada to the West. This created the prefect pink glow. Gabe and Kelsey held each other close at the cool morning warmed. We spent some time getting comfortable in front of the camera before Gabe dropped to one knee. There was a whole range of emotions in that moment I was grateful to witness.
Next we piled into their truck to do a little off roading to get higher on the ridge for a few more photos! If you don’t have a 4×4 lifted vehicle, I do not recommend heading this way. If you’re looking for a sunrise adventure session in Mammoth Lakes during the summertime, I would love to take you here! This is also one of my favorite locations for cross country ski adventure shoots. The road out here turns into a groomed cross country ski or snow shoe route. And it’s free to the public!
