Zion National Park Wedding & Elopement Photographer

wedding days rooted in the love—grounded by desert landscape

There’s something about Zion that feels sacred. Towering red cliffs, soft desert light, and that feeling like you’re standing on the edge of forever. It’s not just beautiful—it’s grounding. A place that invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and feel connected to what really matters.

I’m a Zion-based wedding and elopement photographer for couples who want their day to feel real—not rushed. Whether you’re planning a private hike to your ceremony site or a relaxed celebration with your favorite people, I’m here to help you create something intentional, meaningful, and true to you. I know these canyons inside and out and I’ll help you navigate everything from permits to Plan Bs—so you can stay present and soak in every bit of the magic.

The Heart of a Zion Elopement

If you're ready to reimagine what your wedding day could look like, I'm here to help you make it happen.

Zion isn’t just stunning—it’s a national park, which means there are a few extra steps to legally and respectfully get married here. Don’t worry though, it’s totally doable (and I’m here to help every step of the way).

big picture: How to get married in zion national park

I’ve spent years exploring these canyons and trails—and I’m here to help you get married in Zion in a way that feels natural, easeful, and totally true to you.

Zion has a handful of designated ceremony sites—like the Temple of Sinawava, Menu Falls, and the lawn at Zion Lodge. Each one has different group size limits and vibe. I can help you pick the one that fits your vision best—or suggest alternatives nearby if you’re dreaming of something a little more off-the-beaten-path.

Ceremony Locations

Zion is a popular park, and some locations can get crowded—especially mid-day. That’s why I recommend sunrise or sunset ceremonies, or even weekday dates for more space and serenity. I’ll help you plan around light, people, and weather so you get the experience (and the photos) you’re dreaming of.

Crowds + Privacy

Spring and fall are the most popular (and most comfortable!) times to get married here. Summers are hot, and winters can be chilly—but also quiet and magical, especially if you’re open to snow-dusted views.

Time of Year

To get married in Zion National Park, you’ll need a Special Use Permit. It’s $100 and should be submitted at least three weeks in advance—though the earlier the better. I’ll walk you through exactly how to apply, and I always recommend having a copy of your permit printed for the day of.

Permits

You might think I’m just here to take photos—but as your Zion elopement photographer, my role goes way beyond that. I’m your wedding teammate, trail buddy, and planning partner. From helping you choose the perfect ceremony spot to building a timeline that flows with intention, I’m here to make your day feel effortless, meaningful, and entirely your own.

Dreaming up something adventurous? I’ve worked as a trained wilderness guide in Zion National Park, and I bring that experience into every elopement I photograph. Whether you want to hike to a quiet overlook, rappel into a canyon, or explore the backroads by 4x4, I’ll help you plan it safely—and connect you with trusted local guides if needed.

Not into harnesses or heights? No worries. Your day doesn’t have to be extreme to be extraordinary. I’ll help you find a location that fits your vibe, recommend vendors who align with your style, and carry the essentials up the trail so you can stay present. I’m here to support you in creating a day that’s grounded, beautiful, and completely true to you.

Marah & Chip

Jaymie is the kind of person you want in your corner on your elopement day. The park was doing last minute construction, that we were unaware of, and we had to change the wedding location the morning of. She showed up an hour early (on her own) to scope out the new location and even emailed the park to see about other locations. That was all before she even met us in person! Her photos speak for themselves, but if you’re looking for someone to make you feel taken care of, beautiful, and to have so much fun on your hikes to your photo spots - she. Is. Your. Girl. Cannot recommend her enough. Thanks so much again, Jaymie, for all you did for us!!

*When* to get married in zion

Each season in Zion brings its own kind of magic.

Spring and fall are the most popular for their mild weather, golden light, and vibrant colors.

Summer means big views and longer days but also heat and crowds.

Winter is quiet, crisp, and beautifully still. This is a dream for couples who don’t mind bundling up for solitude.

No matter when you choose to get married, I’ll help you plan for the light, the weather, and the rhythm of the canyon so your day flows with the season instead of fighting against it.

*what* to do...
add a little (of a lot of) adventure

Who says your zion wedding or elopement day has to look a certain way? This is your chance to do things your way—from the timeline to the terrain. Want to rappel into a canyon, climb a sandstone ridge, or take an off-road jeep deep into the desert? Let’s do it.

You could: Climb Angels Landing at sunrise, Go canyoneering in one of the many hidden slot canyons, Explore Lake Powell by boat or kayak, Take a scenic drive to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Add a guided hike, 4x4 tour, or stargazing session!

I collaborate with trusted local guide companies to make sure your adventure is as approachable—or as challenging—as you want it to be. Whether it’s a full-on adrenaline rush or just a peaceful hike to somewhere special, we’ll design a day that feels like you.
